Principal's Welcome

Welcome to Term 4, 2016.

Kia ora, I am Gareth Duncan, Principal, and it is a privilege to be at St Columba’s Catholic School which was founded by the Sisters of the Mission in Hamilton. It is my pleasure to have the opportunity to lead the St Columba's learning community and to walk in the footsteps of Jesus serving our children and parish community.

As a Catholic community we are very proud of our history and heritage and the Special Catholic Character of our school which is expressed through the students, the teachers and the wider school community, living and teaching the Gospel Values.

Communication is a key to ensure the school and parents work in a partnership to get the best possible learning outcomes and I look forward to working with you throughout the term in whatever capacity you are able. I would invite you to take the time to attend as many events as possible throughout the term and to participate and learn about the educational opportunities and experiences available to you and your child.

On behalf of our supportive BOT, PTFA and staff, I extend a warm welcome to you all. Please enjoy looking around our website and take the time to stop in and say hello when you get a chance.

God Bless you all

Gareth Duncan

Principal

Enrolments - IMPORTANT information:

The St Columba’s Catholic School Board of Trustees, wishes to advise that the roll is officially closed for enrolments for Year groups 1-8 for the unforeseeable future. This is in line with the State Integration Agreement and due to the high demand for placements. Enrolments for New Entrant students (Year 0), are also closed for this year and Term 1 of 2017.

Parents of New Entrant students (Year 0) wishing to enrol for Terms 2-4 2017 can complete an application to enrol form which is downloadable from this website. This needs to be accompanied by a preference card signed by either of our parish Priests. These applications to enrol must be received at the school office by: Thursday 1st December in order to be considered for placement for 2017.  Applicants must meet the criteria outlined in the school’s enrolment policy. There are limited spaces available and no guarantees can be given that places will be available.
