Welcome to St Columba's Catholic School
St Columba's Catholic School is a learning community walking in the footsteps of Jesus to fulfill the key aspects of Mission, Education & Service.
COVID 19 ALERT
School has now resumed under Level 2 protocols. Please check your school communications in Seesaw for further information.
Kia ora, I am Gareth Duncan, Principal, and it is a privilege to be at St Columba’s Catholic School which was founded by the Sisters of the Mission in Hamilton. It is my pleasure to lead the St Columba's learning community and to walk in the footsteps of Jesus serving our children and parish community.
As a Catholic community, we are very proud of our history and heritage and the Special Catholic Character of our school which is expressed through the students, the teachers and the wider school community, living and teaching the Gospel Values; Care, Honesty, Faith, Love and Respect.
Communication is a key to ensuring the school and parents work in a partnership to get the best possible learning outcomes and I look forward to working with you throughout the term in whatever capacity you are able. I would invite you to take the time to attend as many events as possible throughout the term and to participate and learn about the educational opportunities and experiences available to you and your child.
On behalf of our supportive board of trustees, the PTFA and all staff, I extend a warm welcome to you all.
Enrolments for 2021 at SCCS are now open.
At present we are accepting enrolments for New Entrants, Year 3,4 and 7 only, this is until the beginning of next year. As we are bound by the criteria set out by the Bishop’s of New Zealand, students who are Catholic have preference, although this does not necessarily guarantee a place.
Please contact the school as soon as possible if you are considering enrolling your child/children at St Columba's Catholic School; preference criteria will apply (see link below for further information). This is in line with the State Integration Agreement and due to the high demand for placements.
Parents of students wishing to enrol for 2021 or beyond must complete an application to enrol form which is downloadable from this website. This needs to be accompanied by a preference card signed by our Parish Priest. These applications to enrol must be received at the school office in order to be considered for placement.
Applicants must meet the criteria outlined in the school’s enrolment policy. There are limited spaces available and no guarantees can be given that places will be available.
