Principal's Welcome

Kia ora, I am Gareth Duncan, Principal, and it is a privilege to be at St Columba’s Catholic School which was founded by the Sisters of the Mission in Hamilton. It is my pleasure to have the opportunity to lead the St Columba's learning community and to walk in the footsteps of Jesus serving our children and parish community.

As a Catholic community, we are very proud of our history and heritage and the Special Catholic Character of our school which is expressed through the students, the teachers and the wider school community, living and teaching the Gospel Values.

Communication is a key to ensuring the school and parents work in a partnership to get the best possible learning outcomes and I look forward to working with you throughout the term in whatever capacity you are able. I would invite you to take the time to attend as many events as possible throughout the term and to participate and learn about the educational opportunities and experiences available to you and your child.

On behalf of our supportive BOT, PTFA and staff, I extend a warm welcome to you all.

God Bless you all

Gareth Duncan

Enrolments - Important information:

Enrolments for 2020 at SCCS are now open for families with a preference card.  This is for all years except new entrants who birthdates are between January 2015 and May 2015 as this group is now full.  We are however accepting applications to enrol for new entrants whose birth dates are between June 2015 and Dec 2015.

Please contact the school as soon as possible if you are considering enrolling your child/children at St Columba's Catholic School; preference criteria will apply (see link below for further information).  This is in line with the State Integration Agreement and due to the high demand for placements.

Parents of students wishing to enrol for 2020 or beyond must complete an application to enrol form which is downloadable from this website. This needs to be accompanied by a preference card signed by either of our Parish Priests. These applications to enrol must be received at the school office in order to be considered for placement.

Applicants must meet the criteria outlined in the school’s enrolment policy. There are limited spaces available and no guarantees can be given that places will be available.

Follow this link to the enrolment information.
